Weekend update.
We’re sedate around the Casa-Del-Sankary these days. The four of us who were around this weekend are all suffering rather acute headaches due to sudden caffeine withdrawal. Nespresso machine busted. I know, it’s a first world problem clearly, but its a HUGE but so are ‘roids and gout and this is on par with those. The machine, rather than puncturing the crue cups and blowing steam through them to create the delicious espresso drinks. Instead the machine is crushing the crue cups like an aluminum cans in a recycler.
We’re all suffering the DT’s.
Good news is when you pay a quarter of a grand on a coffee maker you become a privy to an “experience” as opposed just owning a piece of shit. So, the fine folks at Nestle are sending us a new one, and a new subscription to crue cups.. more coffee, more hits, more caffeine.
Last kid left for college today. House is back to quiet. Food bill down to $23.00 a week for the three of us. We’re back to clothing optional around the house.
Which why it’s so quiet around here, the other two have left until I start wearing long pants again. Don’t blame them.
Cold this weekend. Ass numbing. Can’t wait for the walk to the bus tomorrow. I’ll keep my drivers license handy in case I have to prove my gender at some point. -8 is the forecast, makes everyone an “it’.
hey gary — so my nespresso pixie is doing the same thing on occasionally—did it get worse over time? Did you have to send back your old machine? Let me know please because I would truly be in depression without it (I actually had to buy one for home AND the cabin).
I really enjoyed your last posting about springtime in minnesota……I’m awaiting it anxiously, but meanwhile am laying by the pool in aruba. Not drinking any umbrella drinks yet this morning, but thinking about it! Retirement is good, my friend!
My baby (sara) is getting married in June so that is the big planning push going on at the Roed household. I can’t wait to hear your tales once one of your kids is heading down that path because I’m sure you could write a couple of novels about the industry
