If you’re looking for your missing butter knife it might be sticking out of my right eye this morning, or so it feels. My first sinus infection of the year, and almost two years except for the cold I had earlier. As a guy with chronic sinus/allergy/asthma stuff I’d like to report that progress has been made on this front. In the sinus department however, we’ve seriously moved backwards. Where once I could go in, get checked and walk out with a bottle of pills, I know get zilch. “Suffer through it” they say.
I called the company nurse hotline last night, when I was running a low grade fever and dripping green crap out of my nose. “Hot compress and rest, Tylenol for the pain and decongestants for the pressure.” Well since the decongestants counter indicate my blood pressure meds I can’t take those, so the only solution is suffer through it.
So I will…. and without complaining.
too late. No more complaining.

Feel better bud.
Ugh. Sinus infections are miserable! Since you can’t take decongestants, have you tried a steam? It’s a tad uncomfortable if you don’t like heat or humidity but does offer some temporary relief. Basically you just piur boiling water into a bowl, then drape a towel over your head and the bowl while leaning over the bowl and breathing in the steam. If you can get your hands on some essential oils, eucalyptus is a good one to add to the bowl with the water … eucalyptus has some antibacterial properties that may help getting rid of the infection a little quicker. And garlic helps too (it’s antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, and antiparasitic) … a great immune system herb to eat (or you can take the pills like I do). Whatever you do, I hope you feel better soon.
I would add colloidal silver to your list of natural remedies… silver is a natural antibiotic and it’s easy to make your own and avoid the pricy stuff in the health food stores.
Ugh. Sorry to hear about that. While I’ve been very lucky to never have had to deal with respiratory issues, I’ve had many family members and friends who have, so I’ve seen how miserable it can be.
