New Years Again

We’re off to the lake for New Years Eve. Hopefully Jeff from Jonzy’s market has plowed the place. I’m guessing not.

We’ll have a nice coupl’a days with some good friends.. little eating, little drinking, little ice fishing, little cards.. low key New Years, just like I like it.

As far as years go, 2008 was a junker, piece of sh#t year if you ask me. The sad thing, 2009 looks, by all indications, to be worse.

Personally, family and so forth it was a great year. Mrs S and I had a remarkable year, after 23 years of marriage, we had one of the great ones. As anyone who’s been married for more than 20 minutes knows, there’s always good and.. well we haven’t had bad years, but we certainly had good and gooder. 2008 for some reason was outstanding. But, alas, why? I have no idea and to recapture that lightning in a bottle probably is futile. Such is the dilemma of husbands, just as you often don’t exactly know what it was that made the other gender so upset, what makes them happy is often a mystery as well.

So you go with it, which I did. And am continuing to do.

My New Years wish to all my gentle readers, cyber friends, and passing readers…

May 2009 be healthy (cause with out health, the rest doesn’t matter) happy and may your financial situation, well in this economy, may you stay the same and not lose ground, personally I would call that a win.

Oh and one last… May the forces of goodness and all that is right (Penn State) defeat the forces of evil and despair (USC). ’cause of you can’t hate the Trojans, who can you hate? And as a lifelong Penn State fan.. this is our year to do our part.. although I’m not all that optimistic.
